Elegance with distinctly questionable intentions
This Romantic Goth maxi dress masters the art of sophisticated seduction with alarming confidence. The long, slim silhouette with its subtle mermaid line initially appears almost classically elegant – until your gaze slowly travels across the front and realises this dress clearly has very different plans in mind.
A wide insert of semi-transparent lace runs along the entire front, adding exactly the right amount of refined transparency. Flowing over it are beautifully curved appliqués made from opaque wet-look fabric, giving the design something dark, slightly decadent and wonderfully wicked. Large lace ornaments and delicate lace trims create further contrasts, allowing romantic Gothic aesthetics and gloriously sinful details to work together suspiciously well.
Particularly striking are the V-shaped lace-up details placed across the hips, beautifully accentuating the silhouette and creating an almost corset-like effect. As if that were not dramatic enough already, the front is additionally adorned with an opulent brooch featuring a deep black faceted stone set inside a baroque-inspired gunmetal frame with black rhinestones. Subtlety was clearly never part of the plan here.

The main fabric is made from soft, elastic jersey with a textured crêpe finish that flows elegantly around the figure while remaining pleasantly comfortable. The front is additionally lined with delicate mesh, yet intentionally remains slightly sheer. Just enough to stay interesting – and just enough fabric to prevent public outrage. Probably.
At the back, an adjustable lace-up detail allows for an individual fit, while the slim wet-look straps are elasticated and adjustable in length. A concealed side zip also makes dressing considerably easier.

Styled with an opaque slip dress and a fitted cropped jacket, the design can appear almost restrained – at least by Gothic standards. Combined with a bolero, extravagant jewellery or a little more confidence in sheer styling, however, the dress reveals its full dark potential. Perfect for romantic tête-à-têtes, warm festival nights or evenings where restraint was never going to be a realistic option anyway.
